Maher F. El-Kady is an academic researcher at UCLA and CTO at Nanotech Energy, Inc. For more than 12 years, he has been studying the chemistry and physics of materials with applications in energy storage, electronic devices, medical and healthcare devices, chemical sensors and biosensors, nanogenerators, solar cells, water splitting, hydrogen energy, water remediation and environmental monitoring.
Expertise and Achievements
El-Kady has co-authored 17 US and international patents issued and pending and 45+ papers in prestigious journals. His groundbreaking work on graphene supercapacitors led to the development of Nanotech Energy, Inc. where he is leading a team of scientists and engineers for developing more powerful batteries, supercapacitors, printed electronics, nanomaterials, conductive inks and adhesives. He has received numerous awards for his research including the UCLA Herbert Newby McCoy Award, the Lindau Graduate Student Award, the Amgen Postdoctoral Award, the Cairo University Presidential Award for Excellence in Research and the 2012 Excellence in Research Award from the Government of Egypt.
