Position: Process Engineer II
Location: Chico, California
Pay Range: $95,000 – $130,000 per year

Owns defined process-engineering workstreams supporting the development, characterization, qualification, scale-up, transfer, and continuous improvement of cylindrical lithium-ion cell manufacturing at NERD and NEMO. Reporting to the Lead Process Engineer, this experienced individual contributor leads moderately complex trials, equipment projects, technical documentation, manufacturing transfer, and problem solving while providing day-to-day guidance to less-experienced engineers and technicians. Final approvals remain with the designated Cell Development, design, Operations, and Quality authorities.

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, materials, manufacturing, industrial, electrical, or related engineering.
• Three to five years of process development, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, or closely related experience.
• Experience developing, characterizing, optimizing, scaling, documenting, qualifying, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes; direct lithium-ion electrode or cylindrical-cell experience is preferred.
• Practical knowledge of DOE, SPC, process capability, PFMEA, control plans, root-cause analysis, measurement systems, and qualification methods.
• Experience with controlled process documentation, equipment requirements, FAT/SAT, commissioning, manufacturing transfer, and technical mentoring without formal supervisory authority.
• An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, certification, and directly relevant experience may be considered.
