Experience
Throughout his career in the USA and South Korea, Mr. Hong has consistently helped teams and businesses establish market dominance in relatively quick order. Educated with a degree in chemical engineering, he is able to identify B2B marketing opportunities; build long-term, sustainable, and profitable relationships; and conclude successful and complex negotiations with both suppliers, partners, and buyers. He has also successfully launched overseas businesses, demonstrating the effectiveness of his methods on the international stage by again securing market dominance in entirely new territories.
Expertise and achievements
Mr. Hong’s career began with a six-year spell in the United States. He was capable of making an impact from the start, introducing MOCVD and RGA technologies to MKS Instruments and overseeing semiconductor production support for Samsung, SK Hynix, and LG Semi. At both CVD System Inc. and Formfactor Inc., Mr. Hong served as national manager. He successfully sold CVD System Inc., to Novellus Systems and established Formfactor Inc. as the market leader in probe card for semiconductor manufacturing. His skills were recognized in Korea, where he was recruited by Comtecs Co Ltd and tasked with launching overseas operations in both Taiwan and China. And as founder of both Best Materials Corp. and Peach Co., Ltd, Mr. Hong has continued to show his extraordinary talents: the companies have secured 17 domestic and international patents, and he has been awarded prestigious honors by the Korea Technology Finance Corporation and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, as well as a Kyunggi Province award and a Governor Citation. As President of Nanotech Energy Korea, he continues to be one of the most influential figures in Asian technology.
